Vintage, 1939, Easter Egg Ideas

Here's a page from a 1939 Issue of Popular Science magazine. I was fascinated with their creative ideas for Easter Egg decorating. And equally fascinated with their illustrated instructions. Perhaps you'll find a "Strictly Fresh Idea" to add to your To-Do Craft List!

Wouldn't this Rooster look terrific in an Easter Basket?

Add some flowers to her hat, and a whisper of blush on her cheeks and she'd be ready for any Easter Parade!
Did Native American Indian Chiefs wear earrings? At anyrate, some stunning war paint would complete his look!

I just love this "Stratosphere Balloon"... imagine a fuzzy yellow chick taking a ride... of course, you'd most likely want to add flowers, ribbon and glitter to make this even more enchanting!
Hmmm... I'm thinking that this tropical fish is mad about something... perhaps he's not pleased with the suggestion of using "gaudy colors" on him!

Ahhh... my most favorite of the designs... an Egg Trailer! How fun would it be do create one of these?! I'd have to have flowers, bling and glitter!

I'd like to know which is your favorite, and do you think you'll create a "Strictly Fresh Idea" egg for your Easter collection?!

God bless...

Until another time... Pearl

Hi, I Love Your Blog!:) I'm going to try making the Trailer Egg...I love your Vintage Craft Ideas on your Blog! I have a couple old Craft magazines, and I actually made a pincushion from the pattern/idea section from 1966 I think. I had a couple on Etsy. Sometimes, the best Ideas come from the past!
